Cherry Chappell FCIPR

The CIPR is sad to learn of the passing of Cherry Chappell FCIPR, former long-time member of the CIPR's Greater London Group.

Cherry began her professional career in journalism before moving into public relations for English China Clays and the Taunton Cider Company, then part of Arthur Guinness Son & Co. She eventually moved into client-facing roles at several large London-based consultancies and in 1983 became an independent practitioner with a particular focus on the charity and not-for-profit sector, higher education, and wellbeing and medicine.

She was a published author with titles including 'Minding Your Own Business – survival strategies for starting up on your own', published by A & C Black in 2004 and 'How to write better letters' for Penguin Books in 2006.

She was awarded a Fellowship of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations in 2009.

Our thoughts are with her family, friends, and former colleagues at this difficult time.
