CIPR launches Careers in PR Hub to address industry skills gap

The Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR) has launched a new Careers in Public Relations Hub, providing a one-stop resource for individuals looking to start and develop their careers in the PR industry.

The online platform offers insights and guidance for aspiring PR professionals and serves as a useful tool for agencies and in-house teams to support the onboarding and development of junior staff.

The Careers in PR Hub features a wide range of practical resources designed to inform and inspire those entering the profession about what a career in public relations entails. It includes:

  • Real-world career case studies from practicing PR professionals
  • Insights into the typical traits that make up "The PR Personality"
  • A sector spotlight highlighting the diverse industries where PR plays a crucial role
  • Webinars on using LinkedIn to build your personal profile, writing a CV, how to prepare for virtual interviews, and more

The platform aims to address the PR industry’s growing skill shortages by providing clear, accessible information about entering and thriving in the public relations profession. The Institute’s recent State of the Profession report reveals that 75% of in-house and 60% of agency professionals are struggling to find the right talent to fill vacant roles.
