CIPR opens applications for 2026 Research Fund

The Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR) has announced the launch of its 2026 Research Fund, which offers grants of up to £2,000 to CIPR members to support study into subject matters relevant to the development of the wider public relations profession.

The CIPR Research Fund is now in its sixth successive year and offers CIPR members at any stage of their careers funding and support to conduct independent research relevant to the advancement of PR and communications management. The research must be in line with the Institute’s Royal Charter and 2025-2029 strategy, and applications are decided by members of the CIPR’s Research Fund Panel.

Applications for 2026 are now open and are encouraged from both individuals and teams before the deadline on April 15. As part of the Institute’s commitment to inclusion, applicants are not required to have prior research experience and will be offered a free CIPR training course to help develop or refresh their research skills.

Year after year, the CIPR Research Fund provides an opportunity for the public relations profession to explore some of its most pressing and topical themes. We have seen so many fantastic and insightful projects emerge from the Fund in recent years, and I have no doubt that 2026’s projects will continue in much the same vein.

I encourage anyone considering undertaking research, or who has a burning question or curiosity of their own, to apply. Your unique perspectives and experiences could provide valuable insights to help public relations chart its future and tackle some of its greatest challenges.
