Leigh Richards FCIPR

The CIPR is sad to learn of the passing of Leigh Richards FCIPR, who died on 26 February. Leigh was a founding member of the CIPR's Crisis Communications Network.

The network published the following tribute to Leigh;

"Leigh had a passion for PR and was an enthusiastic Fellow and supporter of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations. Recognised as one of the UK’s leading B2B and technology PRs, Leigh had over 30 years’ experience of brand transformation in both the UK and overseas. With his company The Right Image, he masterminded transformational campaigns, built awareness and credibility across large service organisations and introduced ground-breaking new technologies.

His guidance drove campaigns for a wide range of companies from start-ups heading for trade sales through to major players including HP, Xerox, Microsoft, Liverpool University, General Signal, Global Switch and NASDAQ listed organisations. Latterly he became a pioneer of the digital communication revolution – proving that communication and social media are inextricably linked as part of any integrated marketing campaign.

Leigh was a man of utmost honour and integrity. He had a warm heart and gentle spirit. He was generous to a fault, kind, loyal and never lacked for courage when it mattered most. We are honoured to have worked with him and our next event –about how and when to say sorry in a crisis – at 1.00pm on Tuesday 26 April –will be held in his name."
