Navigating Change with Purpose; CIPR publishes 2024 Annual Report

The Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR) has published its 2024 Annual Report - Navigating Change with Purpose - reflecting on a year of transformation and strengthened advocacy amid global political change and economic uncertainty.

The report showcases the Institute's first governance review in a decade, resulting in the appointment of The Rt Hon Dame Maria Miller as the CIPR's first Independent Chair of the Board. It details the intensified Lobbying for Good Lobbying campaign, expanded international partnerships, and new and innovative research including the PR Population Report, the State of the Profession industry analysis, and a diverse range of Research Fund reports.

Published in an accessible and interactive online format, the report also celebrates the 40th anniversary of the Excellence Awards and highlights new services including the Agency & Client Finder and Careers in PR Hub, alongside continued professional development initiatives and diversity programmes.

Members will have the opportunity to hear from and ask questions of the current, past, and future CIPR Presidents as well as the Institute's Chair of the Board and CEO at the CIPR's Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Wednesday 9 July. Register online to attend.

Alastair McCapra, CIPR Chief Executive

In a year when the ground beneath our feet seemed constantly to shift, the CIPR stood firm in its purpose – to champion ethical and professional public relations when society needed it most. Our governance reform updated structures and, crucially, ensured we were best placed to meet the evolving needs of our profession with agility and transparency. With a new five-year strategy in place to guide us to 2029, this report captures how 2024 saw us emerge stronger, more representative, and better positioned to lead the profession forward.”

The CIPR advances professionalism in public relations by making its members accountable to their employers and the public through a code of conduct and searchable public register, setting standards through training, qualifications, awards and the production of best practice and skills guidance, facilitating Continuing Professional Development (CPD), and awarding Chartered Public Relations Practitioner status (Chart.PR).
