Peter Bateman FCIPR

The CIPR is sad to learn of the death of Peter Bateman FCIPR DipPR.

Peter joined the IPR in 1960 and became a fellow in 1981. He spent 33 years with Rentokil, including 20 as Director of Public Relations. He was an honorary Life Member and Past President of the British Pest Control Association (BPCA) and in 1986 he accepted the Institute of Public Relations’ ‘Sword of Excellence’ Award on their behalf. In an interview reflecting on his career in public relations career he said: "Sometimes we can make headlines: sometimes they are made for us."
