Colin Church FCIPR OBE

The CIPR is sad to learn of the passing of Colin Church FCIPR OBE, former President of the International Public Relations Association (IPRA) and CEO of Rhino Ark.

Colin was a CIPR Fellow, Founder Member and Fellow of the Public Relations Society of Kenya. He spent over 35 years working in public relations before turning to work in conservation at the Rhino Ark Management Committee, as Chairman of the Kenya Wildlife Service, and a Trustee of the Mara Elephant Project in Kenya. 

He was recognised in the Queen’s Birthday Honours List in 2017 with an Order of the British Empire (OBE). The civil award was presented to Mr Church for “services to conservation, the environment and communities” in Kenya.

His book, 'Mel-el-Lek's Mountain: Aberdares – place of mystery, drama and compelling events in Kenya’s unfolding story' was published in 2020.
